Alton Towers have announced that Corkscrew will be leaving the park at the end of this year. Its a sad day for most Alton Towers fans as this iconic coaster will be gone forever. The park are planning a special event when you can ride Corkscrew for one last time and say farewell.
In some aspect the ride did need o be removed. It was a rough ride which was not attracting as many guests as when it first opened. So whats next? Well the park have released information about a new area coming to the park (a retheme of Cred-Street maybe?), or will we see the a woodie in its place.
In some ways its for the best but the ride will be missed by many.

I'm quite sad it's going. Sure it wasn't the most pleasant or enjoyable ride to ride but I feel sad knowing that there's going to be an empty space in Ugland where it once stood.
I hope this means that Ugland will get a major re-furbish though to fit in with Rita.

There must be something big planned. Cred street is getting a makeover and the UG swinger is moving to the new area. What will happen to UG Land and the themeing of Rita?
Its is saddening to see this iconic ride go. RIP
